More Rhinos!

For the first time in a long time, more rhinos have been counted in Africa. This is great news and shows that the various measures to protect the rhinos are proving successful. Now it’s time to keep up the good work! The Southern African Wildlife College is also fighting poaching with various interlinked projects. Field rangers patrol the college area, the Eye in the Sky monitors the rhinos from the air and the Dogs4Rhinos are deployed to provide support when poachers are spotted. Another successful strategy, and probably the most successful at the moment, is the de-horning of rhinos. What looks brutal at first glance offers the rhinos the greatest protection, because without a horn there is no poaching!
