Summer event 2025 – many thanks for your generosity
The 2025 summer event was a real highlight! The enriching encounters with friends and fans of Africa, the special location of the HAUTE above the rooftops of Zurich, combined with delicacies served by the motivated HAUTE team, will remain in our memories for a long time to come. We would like to thank everyone who contributes to making this evening an unforgettable experience every year.
The impressive animal pictures by photographer Roman Schubert gave the HAUTE terrace a touch of the African bush. And the African sounds of DJ Fräne, which filled the warm summer evening, opened all our hearts and we almost felt like we were in the middle of Africa. This year, a new donation record was set, thanks in particular to a generous donation from a bank. Over 38,000 francs were raised, which will go directly to the projects of the Southern African Wildlife College. Many thanks to everyone who attended and to those who donated, even if they were unable to attend the event. None of this would be possible without you!
With a film about the projects of Friends of African Wildlife and their impact at the Southern African Wildlife College, supplemented by passionate commentary, Theresa Sowry, CEO of the college, inspired everyone with authentic and humorous insights into the work of the college. In particular, the emotional testimonials from the students and trainers, who thanked us for our support, got under the skin.
Another highlight of the evening was the draw for three generous prizes (tickets worth over CHF 6,000 were sold). The first prize of “two nights at the Southern African Wildlife College & two nights at Tinswalo Safari Lodge” went to Romy and Heinz, and we wish them lots of fun and exciting experiences in South Africa.
Time passed far too quickly – again there was dancing and partying and the air was filled with music and good humor. As a farewell we enjoyed a wonderful champagne from the Colmant Cap Classique & Champagne winery in Franschhoek. Ueli Schmidt from Wein&Sein Winterthur represented this fine wine and presented his excellent wines from South Africa during the evening.
Thank you very much that so many of you were “part of it”.
We are already looking forward to our annual event in 2026 and will announce the exact date in the fall!
