The Kalk AP (Anti-Poaching) is a key component of CAKE’s recently launched Electric Bush Bike Anti-Poaching Act initiative, which aims to help organizations in Africa combat the devastating effects of poaching on the continent’s most endangered species.

(Stockholm, Sweden – January 27, 2021) – CAKE, the Swedish market leader in premium electric off-road motorcycles, today announced the launch of the Kalk AP (Anti-Poaching), a special edition of the Kalk redefined and optimized for rangers working in the harsh conditions of the African bush to protect wildlife. The Kalk AP is a key component of CAKE’s recently launched Electric Bush Bike Anti-Poaching Act initiative, which aims to help organizations in Africa combat the devastating effects of poaching on the continent’s most endangered species.

The Kalk AP was developed in collaboration with staff from the Southern African Wildlife College to ensure that the bikes can successfully assist the rangers in their work. Later this year, the CAKE Kalk AP will go into field use when the SAWC officially tests and deploys the motorcycles with accompanying Goal Zero solar kits as part of its curriculum and training. The use of motorcycles is an integral part of anti-poaching efforts in Africa. Today, these motorcycles run on unreachable gasoline and their noise alerts poachers miles away: unsustainable and inefficient. By using CAKE’s electric off-road motorcycles, the aim is to increase efficiency in catching poachers by being able to approach them quietly.
