Summer event 2024 – what a party thanks for more than 32,000 francs in donations
Another great success
We look back on our 2024 summer event with great joy and gratitude. For the sixth time, we were able to celebrate our event in glorious sunshine on the terrace of HAUTE in Zurich. The delicacies served and the service were outstanding.
Once again this year, we are overwhelmed by your generosity – our Friends donated more than 32,000 francs. Many thanks to everyone who attended and to those who donated, even if they were unable to attend the event. None of this would be possible without you!
We proudly presented our self-created African cookbook. In keeping with this, Patricia Stemmle presented the company Homemade and the beautiful ceramics “made in Capetown”. Theresa Sowry, CEO of the Southern African Wildlife College, inspired the audience with passionate and authentic insights into the latest developments at the college. The short film about the projects supported by Friends of African Wildlife opened hearts.
A highlight of the evening was the drawing of three generous prizes (tickets worth over CHF 4,000 were sold). The first prize of “two nights at the Southern African Wildlife College & two nights at Serondella Lodge” went to Ursina Childs. We wish her and her partner lots of fun and exciting experiences in South Africa.
“The one and only” DJ Fräne accompanied the evening with rhythmic sounds of African music until shortly before 10 p.m., when Theresa Sowry joined in and the two of them created a great atmosphere. No dancing leg remained still.
The big surprise came at 10:30 pm, when the light artist Gerry Hofstetter (briefly present at the event) illuminated the Grossmünster during the Federal Costume Festival and transformed it into a leopard in honor of the Friends and the event. Many thanks for this.
Thank you very much that so many of you were “part of it”.
We are already looking forward to our annual event in 2025 and will announce the exact date in the fall!
